The Internet is full of fun and exciting websites for kids, however, it takes a lot of time to search through and find ones that are educational as well. Here are a few tried and true fun and educational web sites for kids.
K-2 -- Featuring Between the Lions, Leona and Lionel have great games, songs, and stories that correlate with the video/TV series. In our lab we use Quicktime for videos and songs.
3-5 --Featuring Liberty's Kids, A fun show that teaches American History. The web site is full of games and quizzes to test kids' knowledge of our past.

Kids-- A wonderful website with great geographical information and games. Try the Lewis and Clark adventure (very similar to Oregon Trail)!
Math and grammar games as well as parent challenges.
Great site with lots of videos. Perfect for research papers!
Check out your favorite books and authors, take quizzes to see how well you know your favorite charactes like Harry Potter, and have discussions with other online readers.
Current events for kids! Get the news in child-sized, take polls, or check out specials and kid scoops.
Great web site with all kinds of art lesson plans (not crafts). Has a wide variety of disciplines, from archetecture to folk art.
New York Philharmonic web site that takes kids through all the different instrument families with games and fun to access information. Inludes games for kids to compose their own music...check out the Composer's Workshop.
Neat web site that makes music education fun for kids and teachers. Listen to the different kinds of instruments and then see a real musician play.
