• Enlarge the movie (Movie->Double Size or Movie->Fill Screen)
• Take the data on each frame, making sure to click on the correct item when prompted.

(if you happened to deselect all the point series while editing them, click on the take data icon to get started)

Once you have finished taking data on the movie,

• set the movie back to its normal size (Movie->Normal Size)

With the position data and mass for each point, VideoPoint will be able to display the total (Kinetic + Potential) energy for both the cart and the mass. But what about the total energy of the system? This can be found by looking at the total energy of the center of mass of the system.
